She's continually
slipping
away
from
me.

She floats
silently
ghost-like
in our apartment.

Her dimming eyes
rarely leaving
the bay window
as she watches
the world
Outside.

Yet,
she won't join,
preferring
to flit along
the periphery
as a mere apparition.

Occasionally,
she'll meet my gaze,
begging,
longing,
wanting
me
to
let
her
go,
to
let
her
fade
away
from
me.

Silent Screaming Solitude

Silent screaming solitude
… rushing in on me
Deafening my ears
Blinding my eyes

Silent screaming solitude
Surrounding me
In darkness
Hovering
Above
Me
Encloaking me
Covering me
Completely
Hiding me from view

Protecting
Yet
Isolating

Silent screaming solitude
Keeping me
Far
From you.
